Welcome to Bow Mar/Littleton

Located in both Arapahoe and Jefferson counties, Bow Mar lies 12 miles southwest of downtown Denver and borders the city of Littleton.

The name Bow Mar is derived from combining the names of two nearby lakes, Bowles Lake and Marston Lake. The lakes were named for two pioneering farmers in the area, Joseph Bowles and John Marston. The Bowles family farmhouse and barn can today be found south of the town of Bow Mar.

This charming suburb was Incorporated in 1958 and even though it’s small (less than 1 square mile), it continues to become more popular. It is clear to see why with its two lakes, a beach, front range foothills views. When built, many homes in Bow Mar reflected Frank Lloyd Wright's prairie-style architecture with generous one-acre lots, placed on wide streets.

Bow Mar maintains a public beach for residents that is utilized year-round for concerts, gatherings, or other neighborhood events. During the summer, The Bow Mar Yacht Club hosts regattas on Bow Mar Lake.

A Stone’s through from Bow Mar is Historic Downtown Littleton which has a charm all its own, from historic architecture, boutique shopping, and art galleries to a diverse mix of restaurants and breweries, and Pubs. There is always something to do and explore with all of the community events offered in downtown Littleton.
